Launch of the Mario Avati 2025 Printmaking Prize

The Académie des beaux-arts is launching a call for entries for the 2025 edition of its Mario Avati - Académie des beaux-arts Printmaking Prize.

Mario Avati - Académie des beaux-arts Printmaking Prize

The Prize was created in 2013 under the aegis of the Académie des beaux-arts in tribute to printmaker Mario Avati, thanks to the Helen and Mario Avati donation and the sponsorship of CAF America.

The $40,000 international prize is designed to encourage artists who, through the quality of their work, contribute to advancing the art of printmaking, to which Mario Avati devoted his life. It is awarded to an established artist, of any nationality, for his or her engraved work, whatever the printing technique used.

An exhibition of the winning artist's work will be held at the Pavillon Comtesse de Caen of the Académie des beaux-arts (Palais de l'Institut de France, Paris VIe).

Edition 2025

The competition will take place in two stages: submission of an online application by 23 July 2025, followed by the submission of original works for the preselected artists.

The works of the 2025 winner will be exhibited in spring 2026.
